Iconic electronic DJ/chanteuse Miss Kittin releases her latest EP 'Bassline' today and is streaming all 4 tracks in full. 'Bassline' is taken from Miss Kittin's forthcoming new double album 'Calling From The Stars', out 22nd April on French label wSphere.

A mid tempo electro pop song with simple yet evocative lyrics, 'Bassline' utilises complex vocal effects to truly intoxicating effect. Caroline Hervé aka Miss Kittin says about the making of the song, "Even though I always tried to write smart lyrics, it's good sometimes to stay simple. You might call this a pop song with dumb lyrics, but it allows me to focus on complex vocal effects to make it strong, rather than counting on the words".

Stream the 'Bassline EP here including a Djedjotronic remix, one exclusive cut ‘Motown’ plus 'I Don't Know How To Move', taken from disc two of 'Calling From The Stars':

Download French EDM producer Djedjotronic's remix here, described by Kittin as "modern, and classy": https://soundcloud.com/misskittin/bassline-djedjotronic-remix

A special Beatport edition of 'Bassline' is also available, including two bonus remixes of former B-side 'Come Into My House' (from disc one of the album), from Mock&Toof and Mixmag's 'DJ of The Year" Solomun.

This all follows on from Miss Kittin's recent announcement of a Spring 'Calling From The Stars' tour. Miss Kittin plans to bring a brand new live show to Europe in April and May in collaboration with French artist and film-maker, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster. Perhaps best known for her exhibitions at London's Tate Modern and the Guggenheim in New York, Dominique will be the Art Director for the forthcoming live shows, promising a truly fantastical and stylish Miss Kittin experience. Stopping off in Barcelona, Berlin and London, before an intimate finale at Paris’s charmingly classic, Le Trianon, Miss Kittin will grace London’s XOYO on the 1st May. Full details of the European shows are below.

Miss Kittin also released a spectacular video for 'Bassline' last month, a unique collaboration with graphic artist du jour Andrew Woodhead feted for his work with Justice and Breakbot. The video was described by premiere partner Nowness as "A black Ballardian dancefloor illuminated by a setting sun provides the science-fiction backdrop to Parisian dance music heroine Miss Kittin’s new video for 'Bassline'".

Watch the 'Bassline' video here: http://youtu.be/leVTvKMqsl0

Disc one of forthcoming album 'Calling From The Stars' offers up all of the elements that have made Miss Kittin one of the most popular names in electronic music: simple yet evocative lyrics set to an undeniable electro-flavored techno beat. It also showcases a new side of the notoriously enigmatic Miss Kittin, that of an artist unafraid to reveal her inner emotions and beliefs. Disc two is a more ambient take, witnessing Kittin's minimal techno credentials take flight over the ten instrumental tracks.

Boasting a career that spans three decades and longterm collaborations with The Hacker and Felix da Housecat, Miss Kittin’s sound is as brilliantly unpredictable as ever.

May 6 2013

X – X001

"X, it's a new era and it's the ten years of SIZE. X has been something I've had in my head for a very long time. Creativity it gives freedom, fuel and new life"

Steve Angello

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Determined to keep things fresh and exciting, at the end of this month Angello will be launching new label X, providing another outlet for some of the myriad styles of music that inspire him.  The label will start off with a new two track EP from revered dance music veteran Trent Cantrelle entitled ‘Nice & Close’.

Who better to kick things off than New Orleans-born, LA-based DJ/producer Trent Cantrelle who, in a career that stretches back to the early 90s, has proven his credentials time and time again. With a slew of international club hits, tastemaker support and high profile remixes, he remains very much on the top of his game. He now steps up to X with the ‘Nice & Close’ EP.

Built around a hypnotic, rolling groove, the titular track journeys deep into the night with its collage of vocal samples and warped fx breaking down into rave-inflected chords and soaring vocals before emerging again with a renewed energy. On second track ‘Understand’ percussive layers shift around the central syncopated rhythm over a pulsingbassline to create further dance floor alchemy.

“The underground communion appeared to begin during a fantastic from Trent Cantrelle.  It proved that DJs can still get those “hands-in-the-air” moments without capitulating and playing only the hits.” - DJ Times, Beyond Wonderland

Coming off the back of their most exciting year yet, in which they played some of their biggest shows to date across the world and released a steady stream of Beatport topping club hits that has continued seamlessly through the start of 2013, Steve Angello and the SIZE stable continue to make an indelible mark on the world of dance music. However, while others may take this opportunity to sit back, Angello remains as restlessly motivated and unpredictable as ever.

The label will be firmly asserting its position with a new release schedule in place stretching throughout 2013 and beyond. X will focus on the deeper and techier side of the SIZE family’s multi-faceted sound, reaching new audiences and providing further fuel to dance floors worldwide.

A STATE OF TRANCE600-THE EXPEDITION TAKES OVER MADISON SQUARE GARDEN

NEW YORK, NY (April 1st, 2013) – Again raising the bar musically, technologically and culturally, the world’s #1 DJArmin van Buuren stepped off the stage Saturday night after a hair-raising spectacle that was his ground-breaking show at The World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden. Together with the other cherry-picked artists on the New York date of the “A State Of Trance 600–The Expedition” world tour – Ferry CorstenMarkus SchulzW&W and Alex M.O.R.P.H. – van Buuren and his team brought the world an electronic dance music (EDM) performance it will not soon forget.

Not only was the exuberant crowd of 13,500 fans  treated to one of the best live EDM shows to ever hit New York, but music lovers from around the world were also able to share in the experience via van Buuren’s A State Of Trance (ASOT) radio show (www.AStateOfTrance.com) which broadcast the entire MSG event live. Millions of listeners tuned-in from around the world to hear the show as it happened. Van Buuren and his team built an onsite radio studio at MSG, and aside from the 90 minutes during his own DJ set, van Buuren hosted his ASOT radio show as the live performances proceeded to a packed and screaming arena. The ASOT radio session was also streamed live via YouTube and hundreds-of-thousands of viewers from around the globe joined the party. A few lucky fans were even able to ask Armin questions, live and on-the-air.

“[Van Buuren’s] transitions are very tight…and he’s an expert at building and releasing tension.” ~ The Huffington Post

“The world’s longstanding No. 1 DJ, Armin van Buuren, will stand where the Stones jammed; where Lady Gaga gyrated and shed faux blood…and countless other sports and music legends have performed before…this Netherlands born producer maintained an air of calm and friendliness.” ~ Vibe.com

FUSE TV was on-hand to capture footage to air in a later episode of “Fuse News.” Footage of the evening will also be premiered on MTV accompanied by van Buuren’s latest single, “This Is What It Feels Like” featuring Trevor Guthrie (W&W Remix), from van Buuren’s new studio album, Intense (ANA/Armada North America). Accolades are still pouring in from industry trades including Billboard as well as from countless fan sites and blogs.

This date was part of the world premiere of the New World Punx, the new group consisting of electronic music titans, Markus Schulz and Ferry Corsten. Playing as a duo in an exhilarating, choreographed set, the New World Punx (NWP) brought the already frenzied crowd to their feet for the duration of the night. With custom manga characters projected behind the artists on MSG’s mega screens, the NWP act was positively electrifying. Preceding NWP were the DJ/production duo of W&W, rapidly rising stars in their own right. The euphoric sounds of Alex M.O.R.P.H. warmed-up the night as fans had the arena fully packed before the first note rang-out. Armin van Buuren took the final DJ slot and lit up the night with a soaring visual and pyrotechnics display, complete with a live performance by Trevor Guthrie of “This Is What It Feels Like.”

#1 DJ ARMIN VAN BUUREN RELEASES 1ST SINGLE “THIS IS WHAT IT FEELS LIKE

FROM HIS 5TH ARTIST ALBUM INTENSE (ANA/ARMADA NORTH AMERICA)

APRIL 5TH

NEW YORK, NY (March 13th, 2013) – Recording full-length studio albums is often a labor-of-love. It took the world’s #1 DJ, Armin van Buuren, three years to complete his highly anticipated fifth full-length studio album, INTENSE, the follow-up to his 2010 artist album, MIRAGE. On May 3rdINTENSE will be released by ANA (Armada North America), the sub-label of Armada Music focusing on releases within North America. On April 5th, the first single from INTENSE will be released, “This Is What It Feels Like,” featuring Trevor Guthrie. This single is the inaugural release of the ANA imprint.

Voted the world’s #1 DJ the unprecedented fifth time by the readers of DJ Magazine in its annual “Top 100 DJs” poll, INTENSE shows van Buuren spreading his wings musically beyond the electronic dance music (EDM) sound of trance his millions of worldwide fans have come to expect. Guthrie, a Canadian singer-songwriter and former member of the 1990’s band, SoulDecision, teamed with van Buuren on “This Is What It Feels Like.” On the single, van Buuren fuses the elements of dance, rock and pop into one cohesive song primed for the mainstage.

Said Armin van Buuren, “It’s been an intense three years in the making. Being a perfectionist, some of these tracks have taken me months to finish. I’ve tried to incorporate as many real instruments as possible, including a live orchestra and the rock band of my brother, Eller,Bagga Bownz. It’s been an honor to work with such talented artists, singers and songwriters.”

“This Is What It Feels Like” proves that van Buuren is not a prisoner of his own world-renowned style of EDM. A feel-good song that positively soars and rushes with extraordinary production, “This Is What It Feels Like” is the perfect introduction to van Buuren’s long-awaited fifth album.

In May, Armin van Buuren will be touring North America in support of INTENSE. Tour dates will be announced soon and posted on van Buuren’s website.

Armin van Buuren’s INTENSE album is available on www.ArmadaShop.com and iTunes.com pre-order starting April 5th.

The teaser for “This Is What It Feels Like” was viewed more than 150,000 times within four days of going live.

Today, the melancholic yet melodic single from deadmau5's most recent album, >album title goes here<, receives the remix treatment as Italy's Crookers speeds up the downtempo original while chopping Imogen Heap's vocals into persistent stabs matched with an eerie Electro bounce.

Crookers' remix is one of five tracks featured on the Ultra Music release, accompanied by the original and additional remixes from Kolsch, Copy Paste Soul, and John Roman.
