Iconic electronic DJ/chanteuse Miss Kittin releases her latest EP 'Bassline' today and is streaming all 4 tracks in full. 'Bassline' is taken from Miss Kittin's forthcoming new double album 'Calling From The Stars', out 22nd April on French label wSphere.

A mid tempo electro pop song with simple yet evocative lyrics, 'Bassline' utilises complex vocal effects to truly intoxicating effect. Caroline Hervé aka Miss Kittin says about the making of the song, "Even though I always tried to write smart lyrics, it's good sometimes to stay simple. You might call this a pop song with dumb lyrics, but it allows me to focus on complex vocal effects to make it strong, rather than counting on the words".

This all follows on from Miss Kittin's recent announcement of a Spring 'Calling From The Stars' tour. Miss Kittin plans to bring a brand new live show to Europe in April and May in collaboration with French artist and film-maker, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster. Perhaps best known for her exhibitions at London's Tate Modern and the Guggenheim in New York, Dominique will be the Art Director for the forthcoming live shows, promising a truly fantastical and stylish Miss Kittin experience. Stopping off in Barcelona, Berlin and London, before an intimate finale at Paris’s charmingly classic, Le Trianon, Miss Kittin will grace London’s XOYO on the 1st May. Full details of the European shows are below.

Miss Kittin also released a spectacular video for 'Bassline' last month, a unique collaboration with graphic artist du jour Andrew Woodhead feted for his work with Justice and Breakbot. The video was described by premiere partner Nowness as "A black Ballardian dancefloor illuminated by a setting sun provides the science-fiction backdrop to Parisian dance music heroine Miss Kittin’s new video for 'Bassline'".

Disc one of forthcoming album 'Calling From The Stars' offers up all of the elements that have made Miss Kittin one of the most popular names in electronic music: simple yet evocative lyrics set to an undeniable electro-flavored techno beat. It also showcases a new side of the notoriously enigmatic Miss Kittin, that of an artist unafraid to reveal her inner emotions and beliefs. Disc two is a more ambient take, witnessing Kittin's minimal techno credentials take flight over the ten instrumental tracks.

Boasting a career that spans three decades and longterm collaborations with The Hacker and Felix da Housecat, Miss Kittin’s sound is as brilliantly unpredictable as ever.
