GRAMATIK ANNOUNCES NEW YEARS RUN
AND
RELEASES "BOOGIE DOWN" PRODUCED BY GRAMATIK & BREAK SCIENCE
(BOTH MP3 & VIDEO CLEARED FOR POSTING)

Gramatik's new track "Boogie Down" is a collaborative production with Break Science, which is a new, bass-heavy take on the original Earth, Wind & Fire track. This is a serious dancefloor track, that still remains playful and funky, oozing fun from every note. Gramatik's roots are in Hip-Hop, but after a while he felt this just wasn’t enough, and that he was limiting himself by only creating in one genre while he enjoyed listening to so many. He therefore started produce House, Techno, Breakbeat, Electro, Drum’n’Bass - basically any genre that he found himself drawn to. This was pretty much anything that evolved from Blues, Jazz, Soul and Funk, as those ‘’father genres’’ are all embedded deep in his style. To him, music is much bigger than a genre name and specific categorization, it’s all about embracing what moves you and rejecting what does not.
It's therefore no wonder that Gramatik and Break Science have collaborated on "Boogie Down" and will be also be playing together. Break Science create a genre defying, hybrid musical style that encompasses their favorite aspects of Hip Hop, Glitch, Trip Hop, Drum and Bass, and Dubstep. They incorporate into their electronic production the use of real instruments when recording and performing, focusing on live drums and analog synths as well as vintage keyboards like fender rhodes, and clavinet to create a truly new sound that is accurately descriptive of the times we live in.
Gramatik is closing out his year of touring with a few final dates across the West Coast and Texas, finally culminating with two shows in Georgia and an official Bassnectar Afterparty in Nashville on New Years Eve.
Gramatik will be joined by Michal Menert and SuperVision along the musical trek. Break Science will be joining him in Athens, and Sound Tribe Sector 9 will be on the bill in Atlanta.

Live, Gramatik carts an APC 40 on stage, a kind of live performance controller akin to a conductor’s baton—if the baton were hooked up to every instrument in the orchestra. The music is complemented by live instrumentation supplied by Alex, a friend who made the trip with him from Slovenia, where Gramatik is originally from. Following this September'sElectric Zoo performance MTV Iggy and others such as Flavorpill highlighted his set, and named Gramatik as "One of the 5 new acts to watch" saying "His Sunday set was full of that good old bass-heavy mid-morning dubstep".
"Gramatik retains a nonchalance in his music – call it a laid back, down to earth spirit that creates a mellow atmosphere for the beats to orbit around. Oftentimes Gramatik’s cool hip-hop vibe is lined with little perfect little pockets of jazz’s music legacy, including funk, soul and rock n’ roll. Chilled out trip-hop that flirts with all elements of music, from rhythm and blues to jazz, Gramatik stays true to a soulful hip-hop teasing you with playful guitar work and good-time instrumental loops.”

NEW YORK, NY (November 21st, 2011) – Direct from “the funnest DJs in the universe” comes the blazing-hot E.P. by the MANUFACTURED SUPERSTARS, FREAK ON YOU (Magik Muzik), releasing November 28th, 2011! This long-awaited E.P. includes mouth-watering remixes of hip MANUFACTURED SUPERSTARS singles, including the blistering new dubstep remix of “Take Me Over” featuring Scarlett Quinn, a single that’s climbed the radio charts on Sirius XM’s ‘BPM’ dance music station and received support from radio stations worldwide. Tantalizingly, the FREAK ON YOU E.P. also contains four brand-new, road-tested and dancefloor-proven tracks guaranteed to light the night on fire, including “Dance With You,” “We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off,” “Happy Panda” and “Make My Body Move.” As the clamoring crowds on the MANUFACTURED SUPERSTARS’ nonstop string of live shows illustrate, this DJ duo knows what works on a dancefloor.

The pulsating, sultry beats of “Take Me Over” elicit smiles as the catchy hook and radio-friendly chord progressions soak the senses. The Radio Edit has steadily climbed the charts, of course, but it’s the Bingo Players Remix that pumps the underground energy up a notch and warps the song into a dancefloor missile. Beware the J Flash & Tyler Blue Dubstep Mix, however, which ultimately twists this huge pop tune into a searing, vicious, dubstep track full of devastating power. “Dance With You” goes deeper into the house realm, with Molly Cottrell’s rich vocals offering the perfect foil to the lusty bassline and classic 4/4 beat. “Serious” featuring Selina Albright moves along the same deep-house vein, and the Radio Edit is as tight as the Calvin Harris Remix is trippy, the latter accentuating the bassline into an impossibly expansive landscape. Albright returns triumphantly on “We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off,” a hair-raising cover of the 1986 hit by Jermaine Stewart, replete with a thick, tribal beat triggering clubbers into an ecstatic frenzy. “Happy Panda” is a piece-de-resistance of the E.P., a fat and deliciously gooey 4/4 track created for peak-time in the mainroom. “Drunk Text” featuring Lea Luna is a sexy, spoken-word gem recounting that modern tech phenomenon club-goers all experience, set to a hypnotic rhythm and mesmerizing synth line. The Save The Robot Remix of “Angry Circus,” the MANUFACTURED SUPERSTARS’ first release, epitomizes the high-energy, fun-loving vibe of MANUFACTURED SUPERSTARS’ live performances and comes out winning. For DJs and fans alike, FREAK ON YOU is a must-have collection of knockout club tunes!

With a packed calendar of live shows, bus tours and festival dates, the MANUFACTURED SUPERSTARS have come a long way since establishing their act in 2006. Based in Denver, Colorado, the MANUFACTURED SUPERSTARS are BRADLEY ROULIER and SHAWN SABO; co-founder and founding member of BEATPORT, and original employee and current member, respectively. As co-owner of award-winning BETA Nightclub in Denver, ROULIER also has a long history in the EDM scene as a successful promoter. SABO toured the nation as a drum-and-bass DJ/producer with more than 20 commercial vinyl releases under his belt before his current incarnation. As the MANUFACTURED SUPERSTARS, ROULIER and SABO are constantly in-demand (as their tour schedule attests), playing festivals (i.e. Identity Fest, Electric Daisy Carnival, Nocturnal Wonderland, Red Rocks/Global Dance, Lief Festival, etc.) and the world’s top nightclubs (i.e. XS Club at the Wynn in Las Vegas; Fluxx and Voyeur in San Diego; Lavo, Pacha and Greenhouse in New York; Playhouse in Los Angeles, etc.) with no end in sight. They’ve even played at the Kennedy Space Center in Washington DC and at a private event celebrating the inaugural launch of the Virgin Galactic space port. Twenty-twelve is already packing-out with club dates throughout North America, Europe and beyond.

One thing’s for certain, when the MANUFACTURED SUPERSTARS take the stage, the party is out of this world!

VINCE CLARKE AND MARTIN L. GORE

ANNOUCE DETAILS OF BRAND NEW COLLABORATION

After 30 years working on their respective ongoing music projects, Vince Clarke (Erasure / Yazoo / Depeche Mode) and Martin L. Gore (Depeche Mode) come together for the first time since 1981 as VCMG to release a brand new album preceded by a series of EPs.

VCMG is the fruit of six months of initially tentative discussion and subsequent enthused collaboration where Vince and Martin, both influential as pioneers in electronic music, get to exercise their lifelong love of the genre as the techno inspired VCMG.

The project came about over the summer of 2011. As Vince explains: “I’ve been getting into and listening to a lot of minimal dance music and I got really intrigued by all the sounds… I realised I needed a collaborator… so it occurred to me to talk to Martin.”

Says Gore: "Out of the blue I got an e-mail from Vince just saying, 'I'm interested in making a techno album. Are you interested in collaborating?' This was maybe a year ago. He said, 'No pressure, no deadlines,' so I said, 'OK,' and that's what we've been doing the last six months."

The writing and recording of the album was done in a typically unique way with the pair working alone in their respective studios, communicating only via email, exchanging files until the album was ready.  It was in May 2011 that the pair met for the first time to discuss the project when they both performed at Short Circuit presents Mute festival in London.

The album (title to be announced soon) was produced by Vince Clarke and Martin L. Gore and mixed by the influential electronic artist Californian Überzone / Q and will be released in early 2012.

The first release is an EPentitled Spock. EP1 / SPOCK will feature remixes from Edit-Select, aka Tony Scott, the UK DJ / producer and founder of EditSelect Records whose previous remix credits include Speedy J, Death In Vegas and Gary Beck; Regis, British techno musician Karl O’Connor, member of the Sandwell District collective and co-founder of Downwards Records); DVS1, Brooklyn based producer Derek VanScoten (Radiohead / Sleigh Bells / Emancipator); plus XOQ, the alter ego of Californian Überzone / Q, who mixed the VCMG album.

EP1/SPOCK will be available initially as a global exclusive on Beatport on November 30th, and then on all DSPs December 13th 2011.

Disc one is the original album with all 15 tracks. Disc two features eight new tracks, plus alternate versions of tracks from Destroyed. Disc 3 is a DVD of all the music videos from Destroyed, including Moby’s self-made videos for “Be The One”, “Sevastopol”, and “Victoria Lucas”, plus the 10 finalist videos from the Saatchi and Saatchi video competition, and two Wilcox Sessions videos.

To top it off, the impressive package comes with a 24-page booklet with all new photographs taken by Moby. To check out Destroyed Deluxe in detail click HERE and Download “The Poison Tree”, one of the new tracks exclusive to Destroyed Deluxe.

New DJ dates have been added to Moby’s fall/winter tour, including headlining Fall Massive Festival on November 26th in D.C., a set in Miami at Mansion during Art Basel on December 3rd, and a gig on December 31st at Lizard Lounge in Dallas.

Since its release earlier this year, Destroyed has won over the media. Rolling Stone says, “Destroyed merges the gentle electronic tones and atmosphere of Brian Eno’s Another Green World with the sort of big-hearted, grandiose chorus of Moby’s own hit “We Are All Made of Stars.” Moby had time to stop by the Rolling Stone studio recently to film special acoustic versions of some of his hits, including “Porcelain” and “Natural Blues”, and talk about Destroyed in an exclusive interview.Check that out HERE.

Songs on Destroyed were written by Moby mostly late at night, in hotel rooms around the world when cities had gone to bed and the insomnia that worldwide travel can induce fueled his need to create.  Produced by Moby and mixed by Ken Thomas (Sigur Ros, M83) Destroyed is a soundtrack for empty cities at 2 A.M.
