Join us for our sixth ambient & experimental installment. This event is FREE. Rootless will be performing a live set along with local favorite PJAY who will also be playing a live set. VVEISS will be opening up the night for us before the live action starts. 

If you haven't been to our events, we describe Metamorph as an immersive experience that utilizes music and atmosphere. We will be bringing in rugs to cover the dance floor and the space will be illuminated by candle light.

Rootless

Jeremy Hurewitz is a Brooklyn-based artist and Rootless is his solo project. It's meaning is processing and interpreting the past. Through ambient guitar loops, synthesizer and spoken word samples, Rootless creates a psychedelic tapestry of memory, feelings and color to speak to these places. Rootless comes from the term Rootless Cosmopolitan, which Joseph Stalin used to disparage the Jews in the 1950s. Jeremy was based in Prague and Shanghai for 9 years as a journalist and came to identify with the term as he spent those years traveling around the world. Jeremy played music throughout his time abroad and published numerous poems as well, which he mines for Rootless. 

PJAY

A long term veteran in the NY dance scene, an instructor at Pratt Institute, and a master of all things modular; PJay is an artist who needs no introduction. 

VVEISS

Currently engaged as one of a small ring of “party controllers" under the collective Xiao Ma, VVEISS delivers DJ sets that unpredictably traverse techno, house, trap, industrial, noise, and drone, all strung on a taut thread of brutalism. In live performance, VVEISS utilizes voice as an instrument of infinite versatility and nestles the sound into computer-generated compositions and improvisations at the intersection of tuning and timing.
